We Don’t Need To Misrepresent Obama

Several ‘bloggers’ are mocking Mr. Obama for using a teleprompter at a visit to an elementary school back on January 19th, off this photo from the Associated Press:

AP Tue Jan 19, 10:54 AM ET

President Barack Obama, accompanied by Education Secretary Arne Duncan, speaks to the media after a discussion with 6th grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010.

But the AP caption appears to be accurate.

From a White House video of his press appearance:

It would appear that Mr. Obama only used this teleprompter and speaker setup to announce his latest (preposterous) education initiative to the pool reporters who were there, and that he was using the school for a backdrop – as he is wont to do.

Here is Mr. Obama talking to the school kids:

Yes, it’s a small matter.

But we don’t need to misrepresent what Mr. Obama is doing.

He is giving us plenty enough grist for our mills, as it is.

Our glorious leader can’t be caught without the official “Teleprompter of the United States”.
How regal it must seem but even 6th graders know he is FUBAR!!

  2. tranquil.night says:

Thanks Steve, you’re right. There’s plenty of true and hilarious Obamanisms that are on record. Integrity will keep us above the fray in this fight.

  3. proreason says:

It’s bad enough that he can’t even talk to the press without the words being fed to him.

He is the first major political figure to need mommy to hold his hand when crossing the street.

How does his ego reconcile itself with that?

  4. jobeth says:

I understand Michelle is filing an ‘alienation of affection’ suit against the teleprompter

    I’m taking bets…

All those who think he sleeps with his teleprompter line up here….

Those who say no he doesn’t, over here…..

    • Liberals Demise says:

TOTUS is slimmer and trimmer than the couch potato Lady.
Possibly easier to talk to without all the whoop-la!

    • RightWinger says:

It reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where George is in bed with his girlfriend and then sneaks out for under the covers to get a bite of a sandwich. Expect Barry sneaks out from under the covers to read his teleprompter to get everybody in the mood. LOL

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Is that Whoop-la Winfrey, Or Whoop-la-Goldberg?

      (like it matters, actually)

      Just askin’

      I’m smilin’ here, Thanx!!

Here’s a good map of Soros, Pike, et al…

Notice the tentacles and the far reaching affects of them. Tides Center, Shakan Foundation and right on down the Progressive’s lists in government.

I don’t know, guys. Pamela at Atlas

has more photos in which he is definitely looking at the teleprompter. No one holds his/her head at such an angle unless reading from the TP. And what’s with standing up in front like that anyway? With microphones? How big is the classroom that his voice would not project?

    • Steve says:

Yes, Mr. Obama looks at the teleprompter — after his discussion with the kids.

If the media misrepresented a Bush appearance like this, we would scream bloody murder.

    • Liberals Demise says:

Mussolini didn’t have a TP but held his head in the same manner as dingleBarry now emulates.
(Barry needs to cross his arms more often……then he’d be a dead ringer)

    • proreason says:

      LD, very shrewd observation.

Mussilini and the Moron have more in common than just the first letter of their names.

  7. etm says:

And that is what separates us from them. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The worst thing the new media can do is not admit when they get the story wrong. We’ll see if the rest of the bloggers provide this bit of information or not.

  8. Reality Bytes says:

Remember Max Headroom? He’s back and He’s…well you know.

  9. Reality Bytes says:

Hey! What do you mean “several bloggers making fun at Obama”, Huh?

Use our names dag nab it! RB – Proreason, Artboy, Liberal Demise, Colonel 1961 (where are you?)

    • Liberals Demise says:

Me thinks etm meant to say ” QUASI NEO-MEDIA” as there is no such “new media” animal.

  10. proreason says:

I only make fun of the Moron because Steve wrote after his election that he hoped we would show him all the respect that the left had shown President Bush.

I have to force myself to point out that the slimey, corrupt, disingenuous, lying, venal, gay, menacing, angry, greedy, arrogant, stupid, narcistic, bloviating Snot Rag is destroying our country, our families, our friends, our wallets, our health, our communities, our lives and our futures. Really.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

I’m still not sure how you feel. I need more specifics

But I just love how he bounces down the stairs from Air Force One with his hands dangling from the wrists and his lips pursed and beady eyes whipping around in case he sees something he needs to stamp out in the adoring throng awaiting his descent.

It makes me feel like we have a guy who is really in control of his demons.

Tom Friedman on Imus In The Morning, advises his Golfing Buddy – President Obama, to ignore the Tea Party Movement, and the Populism spreading across the country. Tom Friedman “Confused with a chance of Goulash”

  12. proreason says:

    Jon Stewart isn’t impressed:

But if you look beginning at second 51, it appears that he is talking to the press when he is posing on the podium with his chin jutted just so at the perfect presidential angle.

  13. proreason says:

    This might be more significant:

Obamy talking to his “middle class task force”, in a room that holds less than 20 people, who are sitting at a u-shaped table, and he’s using his Grecian Podium and the TOTUS. But without the columns and his head wreathe.

    Now that’s awesome.

Wonder what those people are thinking.

    a) what a magnificant leader?
    b) what a moron?
    c) what did I do to deserve this?
    d) what’s for lunch?
