I’ve just gotten off the night shift and am looking at my five year old daughter sleeping peacefully. And the thought that some pervert in his late forties would intentionally drug a little girl and sexually molest her just makes my blood boil. I’ve had my disappointments with Hollywood before, but I somehow believed there would at least be one line of decency they wouldn’t cross, such as condoning the actions of a pedophile. These people have no shame but nonetheless should be shamed for their defense of Mr. Polanski.

Me too, Bill. I thought he was better than that. Worth mentioning that the French and Polish governments are going mental over this, this insult to an “artist” whose life has “bubbled with creativity”. No surprise with the French but you’d have thought the Poles would be ashamed of this nasty little rat.

Interesting too, to recall that during the war the French deported thousands of foreign refugees and French citizens, including artists and writers like Max Jacob, Otto Freundlich and Irene Nemirovsky, to suffer and die in Auschwitz and never even blinked. They couldn’t get them in the cattle cars fast enough. Now they’re ready to break a lance over the fate of this guy who, let’s not forget, fed a child champagne laced with Quaaludes, anally raped her and then ran away because he was afraid the same thing would be done to him in prison that he’d done to her. A pervert and a coward.

Gee, curious george that I am, I can’t help but wonder about the political persuasions of these shining lights and moral exemplars.

Since the only President from Hollywood was a staunch conservative, that’s probably the side they favor.
