I took 14 students and 4 adults and it was crowded and packed and wonderful. I scoffed when Biden was sworn in. I doubt he's even read the constitution, let alone will he defend and uphold it. I was disappointed when the crowds around us booed Bush. It was disrespectful and annoying. If Obama meant what he said in his speech, then I'm with him (the part about work and integrity), but you have to start with some of those traits before you use them. Whichever PR person is hell bent on making Obama look like Lincoln needs to read his/her history. It's annoying. However, I did have a good time despite the crowds. People were, for the most part, cheeful, polite and nice. Even as my group of 19 came pushing through to get around a corner (they were all waiting in line) people were trying to help us get by and stay together. There was a cohesive mood among intelligent people and most of us ignored the ignorant ones. I can't say if there was 800,000 or 1.8 million...it was packed where we were...but we were by the port-a-potties. I was there.
