Scott Walker Dispels MSM Myth That He Lacks Charisma

From a suddenly concerned reporter at The Hill:

Scott Walker shows fire in Iowa

By Cameron Joseph | January 24, 2015

DES MOINES, Iowa — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) delivered a fiery speech in Iowa on Saturday, wowing the conservative crowd [sic] with a passionate argument for small government and his own lengthy resume.

And yet we’re constantly told that Scott Walker has had a ‘charisma bypass.’ (By the way, when was the last time you saw The Hill talk about a liberal crowd?)

The Wisconsin governor, in rolled-up shirtsleeves, paced the stage as he blasted big government and touted a long list of conservative reforms he’s pushed through in blue Wisconsin. The governor also showed a rhetorical flourish that’s largely been absent from his previous campaigns, drawing the crowd to its feet multiple times.

Tea Party Group Chair Responds To Boehner’s Comments

From the Daily Caller:

It’s Not Just Tactics, Mr. Speaker

By Jenny Beth Martin, Chairman, Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund | January 25, 2015

“The issue with the Tea Party isn’t one of strategy. It’s not one of different vision … It’s a disagreement over tactics, from time to time,” said Speaker of the House John Boehner, on 60 Minutes Sunday night.

More than a year ago, Speaker Boehner took serious offense when conservative groups criticized a budget deal he favored. They had “lost all credibility… I don’t care what they do.” So irrelevant is the Tea Party movement that the Speaker took to 60 Minutes to complain about its criticism of him Sunday night…

[But] our opposition to his leadership centers on our belief that we do NOT, in fact, share visions and strategies.

Boehner: Conservatives Just Attack Me To Raise Money

From The Hill:

Boehner rips right for raising money by ‘just beating the dickens out of me’

By David McCabe | January 23, 2015

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is blaming conservative groups in Washington for turning him into a human pinata to raise money.

Mr. Boehner’s actions had nothing to do with his becoming a pinata?

In an interview to air on Sunday’s "60 Minutes" on CBS, Boehner said he doesn’t disagree that much with conservatives on policy, but that the groups beat “the dickens out of me” in order to line their own pockets. "The issue with the Tea Party isn’t one of strategy. It’s not one of different vision,” Boehner said, according to excerpts released by CBS.

Really? So the Tea Party agrees with Boehner’s strategy of doing a budget for 2015 even before the Republicans could take over the Senate?

Michael Moore, Howard Dean Snipe At ‘American Sniper’

From the Inquisitr:

Michael Moore Fires Back With Another Twitter Rant Filled With More Sniper Insults, References To Christianity

January 25, 2015

… On Jan. 24, Moore took to Twitter yet again with more sniper insults:

Tomorrow’s Sunday School (1) What Would Jesus Do? Oh, I know what he’d do — hide on top of a roof and shoot people in the back!

Sunday School: (2) But What Would Jesus Do if he could be a sniper & save soldiers lives by shooting "savages" in the back? ANSWER…

Sunday School: (3) ANSWER: Jesus wouldn’t put any soldiers lives in harm’s way in the first place because he wouldn’t have sent them 2 Iraq

Who knew that Michael Moore was such a Bible scholar?

Instead of being a sniper to protect our troops, I tried to save their lives by stopping Bush from sending them to their deaths in Iraq.

Group: ‘American Sniper’ Spurs Threats Against Muslims

From an unquestioning Reuters:

Group says ‘American Sniper’ film spurs threats against Muslims

By Mark Guarino January 24, 2015

CHICAGO (Reuters) – An Arab-American civil rights organization has asked "American Sniper" director Clint Eastwood and actor Bradley Cooper to denounce hateful language directed at U.S. Arabs and Muslims after the release of the film about a Navy marksman.

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) said in a letter to Eastwood and Cooper that its members had become targets of "violent threats" since early last week, before "American Sniper" went into general release.

Here we go again with the dangers of a ‘Muslim backlash.’ A backlash that somehow never seems to materialize.

The letter said Eastwood and Cooper, the film’s producer and star, could bolster the ADC’s message of tolerance.

Obama To Saudi Arabia, Wants To Close Alaska To Drilling

First there is this from Reuters:

Obama, world leaders head to Saudi Arabia to offer condolences

By Angus McDowall | January 24, 2015

RIYADH (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to meet its new King Salman after the death of his predecessor Abdullah on Friday, testimony to Riyadh’s important role in energy markets and the fight against Islamist militancy.

Which the Saudis have promoted in their own fashion.

Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande and Japan’s Crown Prince Naruhito will visit on Saturday and Sunday to offer condolences. Obama will cut short a visit to India to pay his respects instead of Vice President Joe Biden, who had been scheduled to fly in from Washington, the White House said on Saturday…

Isn’t it funny how Obama is able to quickly rearrange his schedule when he wants to?

Freed Al Qaeda Agent Was Once Part Of A Proposed Swap

From the Daily Beast:

Exclusive: Freed Al Qaeda Agent Was Part of Proposed Swap for Jailed Americans

An American couple’s freedom may have come at a steep price: the release of a convicted terrorist from Supermax prison.

By Shane Harris, James Kirchick | January 25, 2015

Before he was released from a U.S. maximum-security prison last week, a confessed al Qaeda sleeper agent was offered up in a potential prisoner swap that would have freed two Americans held abroad. The Daily Beast has learned that the proposal was floated in July 2014 to the then-U.S. ambassador in Qatar by an individual acting on behalf of that country’s attorney general.

According to two individuals with direct knowledge of the case, the proposition was made shortly after the Obama administration traded five Taliban fighters for Army Sgt.

ISIS Kill Japanese Hostage, US Insists It’s ‘Not Religious’

From the Agence France Presse:

IS claims it executed Japanese hostage

By Rita Daou with Miwa Suzuki in Tokyo | January 25, 2015

Beirut (AFP) – The Islamic State group said Sunday it executed one of two Japanese hostages it has been holding, in an apparent beheading branded "outrageous and unforgivable" by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The claim comes a day after the release of a video announcing the murder of security contractor Haruna Yukawa by the jihadist group which has beheaded five Western hostages since August last year.

It sought to raise the pressure on Japan by saying the fate of the other captive, freelance journalist Kenji Goto, depended on the release of an Iraqi would-be female bomber who is on death row in Jordan…

Imagine ISIS thinking they could get Japan to do a prisoner swap.

Harry Reid And Dean Heller (R) Rip NFL for ‘Deflategate’

From the Politico:

Harry Reid, Dean Heller rip NFL for ‘deflategate’

By Lucy McCalmont | January 22, 2015

Nevada Sen. Dean Heller (R) called upon the National Football League Thursday to “restore the credibility of the game” in the wake of the alleged use of underinflated balls recently by the New England Patriots.

So when is Congress going to restore the credibility of the Constitution? (This is a rhetorical question.)

“I am seeking decisive actions ensuring all teams are playing according to the rules,” Heller said Thursday in a statement, adding that the league should work with the NFL Players Association to resolve the issue ahead of the Super Bowl on Feb. 1…

Heller did not outline specifically what actions he’d like the NFL to take.

Federal Judge: Illegals Can Keep Licenses Despite AZ Ban

From a cheering New York Times:

U.S. Judge Says ‘Dreamers’ Can Keep Driver’s Licenses

By RICK ROJAS | January 22, 2015

PHOENIX — A federal judge has decided to make permanent an injunction overturning Arizona’s ban on issuing driver’s licenses to young immigrants who were brought to the United States illegally as children and spared from deportation by President Obama in 2012.

Judge David G. Campbell of Federal District Court issued the permanent injunction on Thursday, citing the “irreparable harm” caused to the young immigrants by not being able to have a license under an executive order issued by former Gov. Jan Brewer. Ms. Brewer, a Republican who left office this month, argued that President Obama did not have the authority to act unilaterally in deferring deportations.

Walker Seeks To Bar Drug Users From EBT And Medicaid!

From an apoplectic Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

Walker budget to bar drug users from food stamps, Medicaid

By Jason Stein | January 22, 2015

Madison — With federal approval in doubt, Gov. Scott Walker is moving ahead with his campaign pledge to ensure that drug users aren’t getting public health care, food stamp or jobless benefits.

The nerve of the man!

As Walker explores a 2016 presidential bid, the proposal being included in the governor’s Feb. 3 budget bill will help him sell himself to GOP primary voters as a leader committed to overhauling the core programs of government.

We knew he had to have some sinister ulterior motive. Nobody would think of such a thing otherwise.

For the first time Thursday, Walker committed to drug testing recipients of BadgerCare Plus health coverage and also pledged free treatment and job training for those testing positive for drugs… The governor said the drug-testing proposal would apply only to able-bodied adults, not the elderly or children, and would include transitional jobs initiatives.

(Dem) Bayh Report: Feinstein Staff Stole CIA Documents

From the Washington Times:

Feinstein’s aides first spied on the CIA and swiped documents, Bayh charges

By Rowan Scarborough | January 21, 2015

When Sen. Dianne Feinstein took to the Senate floor last March, she… portrayed [her staff] as innocent victims of a band of intrusive agency officers who penetrated the aides’ computer hard drives…

This month former Sen. Evan Bayh… came to nearly completely opposite conclusions… He was chairman of a CIA accountability board review that portrays the Feinstein staffers as the ones who first penetrated and snatched restricted CIA files.

Lest we forget, Mr. Bayh is a lifelong Democrat. He was the US Senator from Indiana from 1999 to 2011. And he had earlier served as the 46th Governor of Indiana from 1989 to 1997.

Romney: Climate Change Is Man Made, Must Be Tackled

From a suddenly swooning Associated Press:

Mitt Romney: ‘I’m One Of Those Republicans’ Who Believes In Climate Change

By MICHELLE L. PRICE and STEVE PEOPLES | 01/22/2015

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Outlining his possible rationale for a third presidential bid, Mitt Romney said Wednesday night that political leaders in both parties are failing to address the nation’s most pressing problems — climate change, poverty and education reform, among them — as he acknowledged lessons learned from his failed 2012 presidential campaign…

Apparently, the lesson Mr. Romney learned was that he need to become a Democrat. (Some would say, become ‘even more’ of a Democrat.)

While hitting familiar Republican points criticizing the size of the federal debt, Romney at times sounded like a Democrat, calling for President Barack Obama and other leaders in Washington to act on common liberal priorities such as climate change, poverty and education…

Gee, even the AP has noticed that he is talking like a Democrat.

AP: Under Pressure To Govern, GOP Moderates Take Lead

From the Democrat Party organ, the Associated Press:

Under pressure to govern, divisions emerge among House GOP

By ERICA WERNER | January 22, 2015

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a House Republican majority often driven by the most conservative lawmakers, the pragmatists are suddenly demanding to be heard.

Hilarious. Where have we seen any evidence over the last six years that the Republican majority in the House was driven by conservatives? And while we are asking questions, how come we never see any headlines about Obama being under pressure to govern. Or the Senate Democrats being under pressure to govern? (See second article below.)

These lawmakers defected on an immigration vote last week, and this week they forced GOP leaders to water down abortion legislation.

So ‘governing’ means caving on amnesty and taxpayer funded abortions.
