(Non) Writers Of O-Care Say ‘Four Words’ Were Mistake

Some outrageous media malpractice from the New York Times:

Four Words That Imperil Health Care Law Were All a Mistake, Writers Now Say

By ROBERT PEAR | May 25, 2015

WASHINGTON — They are only four words in a 900-page law: “established by the state.” But it is in the ambiguity of those four words in the Affordable Care Act that opponents found a path to challenge the law, all the way to the Supreme Court.

There is nothing ambiguous about those four words. And that isn’t the only time the point is made in the law that only the states will establish subsidies.

How those words became the most contentious part of President Obama’s signature domestic accomplishment has been a mystery. Who wrote them, and why?

NYT Blames ‘Anti-Government’ GOP For Lost Black Jobs

In the original 2,062 words and 110 paragraphs NYT article Obama’s name never appears once.

From Breitbart:

NYT: Blacks Have Lost Jobs Due To ‘Anti-Government’ Republicans

By Dr. Susan Berry | May 25, 2015

The New York Times asserts that thousands of blacks who once had government union jobs now don’t, and some of the primary reasons for this unemployment are “strong anti-government and anti-tax sentiment” as well as attempts by Republicans to weaken public sector unions.

And never mind that these ‘anti-government’ and ‘anti-tax’ sentiments don’t seem to be changing anything. Since government has expanded and taxes have gone up under Obama. And, of course, the public sector unions have grown rather than be weakened. In fact, they are the only kind of unions that are growing.

(Now DOJ Run) Oakland’s Policy On Protests Is Protested

Note that the Stalinist National Lawyers Guild (and the ACLU) are telling the DOJ what to do. And the DOJ is then telling the Oakland police what to do. What a surprise, huh?

From an unquestioning Associated Press:

Protesters target Oakland policy on street demonstrations

May 25, 2015

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Police made arrests as demonstrators marched in downtown Oakland against the city’s new get-tough policy for monitoring street protests — the second such gathering in as many days.

Wait a minute. How could there be any social injustice in Oakland? Oakland is one of the more than two dozen police departments that is now run by the civil rights division of Obama’s Department Of Justice.

In fact, it was one of the first police departments taken over by the DOJ.

FL Crowd Attacks Officer During Arrest; Cop Killed In NO

Plus, the St. Louis Cardinals apologize for their mascot holding a sign sahying: ‘Police Lives Matter.’ But the world hasn’t gone crazy.

First from the NBC Orlando affiliate, WESH:

Police: Crowd attacked officer during arrest

May 25, 2015

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Police in Melbourne said one of their officers was attacked by a crowd as he tried to make an arrest Saturday. The officer approached Phoenix Low, 22, about an ordinance violation on New Haven Avenue, and Low became combative, police said. The officer tried to arrest Low, at which point he resisted and attempted to run, according to police.

Police said as the officer tried to place Low in handcuffs, “a crowd surrounded the officer and began to interfere with attempts to arrest Low by yelling, striking and pulling at the officer and the prisoner.” The officer used “less-lethal force” on the crowd.

Baltimore Sees Most Homicides For May In This Century

And yet none of those shootings or deaths seem to be due to racist cops. Who, of course, are the real problem.

From the Daily Caller:

With 27 Shootings This Weekend, Baltimore Sees Its Most Violent Month This Century

By Chuck Ross | May 25, 2015

Baltimore has seen 27 shootings and eight deaths so far over Memorial Day weekend, as the month of May promises to be the most violent the city has seen this century.

This article is out of date. The latest figures are 28 shootings and nine homicides over the weekend. Which brings the total of homicide for the month to (at least) 35.

“It is disheartening that we are seeing such an increase in violence, especially when we think about the progress that we’ve made,” Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake told WJZ.

DOJ Takes Over Cleveland Police; Sharpton Will Attend

Who knew so many cities run by Democrats could be racist? But Obama and Sharpton’s push to take over the local police is going gangbusters. Except they are on the side of the gangs.

First from a cheering New York Times:

Cleveland Reaches Settlement With Justice Department Over Police Conduct

By MITCH SMITH and MATT APUZZO | May 25, 2015

CLEVELAND — Cleveland has reached a settlement with the Justice Department over what federal authorities said was a pattern of unconstitutional policing and excessive use of force, people briefed on the case said Monday…

Isn’t it amazing what is unconstitutional and what isn’t these days? But when you call something unconstitutional that opens the door to a federal takeover of the local police. (Which some might say is unconstitutional.)

The settlement, which could be announced as early as Tuesday, comes days after a judge declared a Cleveland police officer not guilty of manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a car’s two unarmed occupants, both of them black…

Something what has never happened to white people who have lead the police on high speed chases and refused to cooperate with the police even after being surrounded.

71 Arrested In Cleveland After Officer Found Not Guilty

This article fails to mention the races of the protestors who assaulted the innocent bystanders. Try to guess why.

From Reuters a couple of days ago:

Cleveland police say 71 people arrested overnight in protests

By Aaron Josefczyk | May 24, 2015

CLEVELAND (Reuters) – Some 71 people were arrested in Cleveland overnight during protests that flared after a police officer was found not guilty in the shooting deaths of an unarmed black man and a woman following a high-speed car chase in 2012, police said on Sunday.

Protests were mostly peaceful [sic] after the judge’s verdict was announced on Saturday, Police Chief Calvin Williams said. But later in the day, some people "crossed the line," assaulting bystanders in a downtown restaurant area, briefly blocking a major highway and disrupting business at a shopping center, he told a news conference…

For some reason the article fails to mention is the race of the protestors who assaulted the innocent bystanders.

Al Jazeera – 81% Support ISIS; Woodward – W Didn’t Lie

So where are all the so-called moderate Muslims? Don’t they watch Al Jazeera and follow their website?

First via Breitbart:

SHOCK POLL: 81% Of Al Jazeera Arabic Poll Respondents Support Islamic State

By Jordan Schachtel | May 25, 2015

Washington, D.C. – In a recent survey conducted by Al Jazeera.net, the website for the Al Jazeera Arabic television channel, respondents overwhelmingly support the Islamic State terrorist group, with 81% voting “YES” on whether they approved of ISIS’s conquests in the region.

The poll, which asked in Arabic, “Do you support the organizing victories of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)?” has generated over 38,000 responses thus far, with only 19% of respondents voting “NO” to supporting ISIS… Al Jazeera claims that it has over 40 million viewers in the Arab world…

But Al Jazeera is Obama and Hillary’s favorite media outlet.

Syria Partitioned; Palmyra Off Limits; ISIS May Buy Nuke

Everyone sing along: ‘War is over if you want it. War is over now.’

First, from the Agence France Presse:

Syria regime ‘to accept de facto partition’ of country

By Sammy Ketz | May 24, 2015

Beirut (AFP) – Weakened by years of war, Syria’s government appears ready for the country’s de facto partition, defending strategically important areas and leaving much of the country to rebels and jihadists, experts and diplomats say.

The strategy was in evidence last week with the army’s retreat from the ancient central city of Palmyra after an advance by the Islamic State group.

But ISIS isn’t winning. The US is just suffering a few ‘setbacks.’ Well, at least Joe Biden will be happy. He has always wanted to give up parts of countries to appease the terrorists.

US Sec Of Defense: ‘Iraqi Forces Showed No Will To Fight’

This article also claims these Iraqis soldiers were not trained by the US. Were they trained by the French?

From an unquestioning Associated Press:

Defense chief: After Ramadi, Iraq’s ‘will to fight’ at issue

By KEN DILANIAN | May 24, 2015

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Islamic State group’s takeover of the provincial capital of Ramadi is stark evidence that Iraqi forces lack the "will to fight," Defense Secretary Ash Carter said in a TV interview that aired Sunday.

The harsh assessment raised new questions about the Obama administration’s strategy to defeat the extremist group that has seized a strategically important swath of the Middle East.

This is subtle. Yes, it puts Obama’s so-called strategy of counting on the Iraqis ‘boots on the ground’ to help defeat ISIS.

Obama: First Memorial Day Since The End Of Afghan War

Has someone told the Taliban that the war in Afghanistan is over? No wonder no one in the audience applauded. They must follow the news.

From The Hill:

Obama marks ‘especially meaningful’ Memorial Day

By Jesse Byrnes | May 25, 2015

President Obama highlighted the U.S. drawdown in Afghanistan during his annual Memorial Day speech in Arlington, Va. on Monday, casting it as a historic time of remembrance spanning two administrations.

"For many of us, this Memorial Day is especially meaningful. It’s the first since our war in Afghanistan came to an end," Obama said during his speech at Arlington National Cemetery.

To be fair (though we don’t know why we should be), Obama did talk here and elsewhere about the sacrifices made in Afghanistan.

Jobless Rate Dropped For Foreign-Born Workers In 2014

What great news! The unemployment rate is down! For foreign workers, that is.

From the a cheering Wall Street Journal:

The Unemployment Rate Dropped for Foreign-Born Workers in 2014

By David Harrison | May 21, 2015

The unemployment rate for foreign-born workers in the U.S. fell to 5.6% in 2014 from 6.9% in 2013, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday, reflecting the overall firming up of the labor market last year. The unemployment rate for the native-born fell to 6.3% last year from 7.5% in 2013.

And here we had the impression it was illegal for most foreigners to work in the US, at least until Obama gives them a work permit. Guess we were mistaken.

Since 2009, when the national unemployment rate peaked, joblessness among foreign-born workers has fallen by 4.1 percentage points.

Warren Got $90K From Kind Of Trade Case She Opposes

Though, first, there is this glorious news of Obama’s latest ‘triumph.’

From a cheering (because Obama won) Associated Press:

Obama’s trade bill narrowly clears a key Senate hurdle

By DAVID ESPO and CHARLES BABINGTON | May 21, 2015

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a triumph for President Barack Obama, sweeping legislation to strengthen the administration’s hand in global trade talks advanced toward Senate passage Thursday after a showdown vote that remained in doubt until the final moment. The 62-38 vote, two more than the 60 needed, came from a solid phalanx of Republicans and more than a dozen Democrats. But the decisive thumbs-up came — literally, and long past the allotted time — from Democratic Sen. Maria Cantwell of Washington after she and a few others seized the moment as leverage to demand a vote next month on legislation to renew the Export-Import Bank…

Democrats are always so good at extortion.
